Linda Smith

MPH

Linda Smith-Alexandre is currently the Director of Community Relations for Optimus Health Care Inc. where she has worked for the past 20 plus years.  In her tenure at the health center, she has honed her passion for community health promotion and education in various roles for the patients ranging in the faith-based sector and patient sector in the Greater Bridgeport service areas.

Linda received her Master in Public Health from Hunter College-CUNY, New York, New York. Both her Masters and Bachelor degrees received from Old Dominion University Norfolk, Virginia her home state.  During this leg of her educational journey, she began to develop her zeal for sharing health education and health awareness information for vulnerable communities to reduce racial and ethnic health disparities. 

Her passion for community health education offered the opportunity to participate with the Connecticut Health Foundation Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities Fellows Program.  Every moving forward in this topic, she was able to serve as an adjunct professor in the Public Health Program at Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, Connecticut.

Linda has a wealth of time spent giving back to these communities in the creative arts mode as well, which lead to her developing a wedding planning service inclusive of her becoming ordained.  She completed training for the chaplaincy program in pastoral care earlier this year to keep giving back to community members in need of emotional care.  She is a graduate of the United Embassy of Chaplains, New Britain, Connecticut.  As well as, a notary for the State of Connecticut.
